Pastor Moss

No, I’m not going to talk about Tiger Woods!  We need to pray for him and his wife and support them during this difficult time.

Now to the topic.

This week our president announced his decision to send more troops to Afghanistan.  As I have watched the news and the reactions and responses of those around him, it is interesting that those who were vocal about the time that he was taking to make a decision are still vocal now that one has been made.  They continue to criticize everything that President Obama does. It was a hard call to make given the fact that I am sure that he would love nothing more than to get the United States out of a war that has cost so much in pain and suffering.

When we experienced 9/11 the people called for us to retaliate.   As numerous investigations have uncovered, had more time been taken before the call was made our efforts would have been better directed, more productive, and more than likely concluded by now. Nevertheless, even President Obama inherited it.  “It is what it is.”

So then, you make the call. We are all faced with challenging situations that life may bring our way-- a battle between our will and God’s will.  Each of us has to make a decision each and every day of our lives. That decision is whether to live for God or to live for self; whether or not to live for the Kingdom or live on a one-man island.

As I listened to our president’s speech, I realized that he had a hard call to make-- but he made it first through prayer; secondly, greatly considering the families of those who would be sent to war; and finally, how this would affect the Kingdom.

Again I say, you make the call.

Peace & Love,

Pastor M
