Pastor MossThis year will certainly cause quite a few people to really be sincerely thankful for what God has done for them during these tough economic times.  It occurred to me that so many more than likely have taken this holiday for granted.  In past years they have not had to endure any challenges that they could not handle themselves.

But I would hasten to say that this year because of situations and circumstances beyond the control of many, that our prayer of thanks around the dinner table will not be a superficial as it has been.

Out of necessity, families have come together again.  Out of necessity, people have adjusted how they spend their money.  Out of necessity individuals have determined that life is worth more than material things. Let us take this time to reach out to others who have really hit rock bottom-- letting them see that everyone is dealing with something; that there is a brighter day tomorrow.

So if I had to sum it up, share your friendship; share your greens and beans; share your chitterlings and chops; share your turkey and ham; but most of all share your faith in God.  Be blessed!

Peace & Love,

Pastor M
