As has been explained, this action was proactive in order to position resources to ensure that the American public would be able to endure. In addition to this we have received reports that more American lives have been lost as a result of terrorism. More of our American military personnel have lost their lives as a result of the fight against terrorism. Additionally, homes are still being foreclosed on, jobs are still being lost, individuals are losing health insurance, and the fight against greed on Wall Street continues. As I watch the President address the myriad of concerns, the resolve in his voice and on his face is one that says to me, “We will survive.” Year's ago the group Destiny's Child had a hit song, "Survivor." The lyrics to the refrain were, "I'm a survivor. I'm not gonna give up. I'm not gonna stop. I'm gonna work harder." This has been the year of the survivor. Once it is embedded in our minds and our spirit that we are survivors we are able to deal with adversity until victory is won. So in the days ahead stay prayed up, keep studying God’s holy Word, in tough times get your praise on, and let us march on until victory is won. Peace & Love, Pastor M. |
