| Do They Really Have the People’s Best Interest at Heart? |
I have become increasingly amazed at the decisions our political representatives are making in the name of a balanced budget and for the sake of the people. With each passing day and each decision they make it would appear that the people are suffering more. For instance-- the impact that teachers in the Cobb County School system are feeling; the elimination of public transportation in Clayton County; and the recently disclosed property tax issue in Fulton County. Sometimes I wonder if the issues the politicians voted on directly impacted them, how would they vote then? How would they vote if they had to depend on public transportation to get to work to feed their family? How would they vote if their health care plan was threatened? How would they vote if consideration was given to reducing their salaries or even eliminating them altogether given the fact that many of them are well off already? Do they really have the people’s best interest at heart? If we were ever really able to get an honest answer to how much or how many financial resources are wasted, the people would be appalled. There is no reason that we should even give consideration to reducing the number of teachers or schools when for centuries we have heard that education is the key. Well, they’re threatening to take the key, therefore keeping the door to prosperity and “the way out” locked forever. Do they really have the people’s best interest at heart? One thing I know for sure, If God is for you, who can be against you? So keep praying, keep praising, and keep pushing!
