Undoubtedly the most widely-watched game in the NFL besides the Super Bowl was the football game on Monday evening, November 15 between the Washington Redskins and the Philadelphia Eagles.  Those who watched witnessed a tremendous display of skill and giftedness by the Eagles’ Michael Vick.  I could not help but recall the anger, the hatred, and the venomous attacks that were levied against this athlete as he was accepting responsibility for illegal behavior.   

As he has paid his debt to society he has maintained all along that he was “focused” on returning to the NFL.  Because of the decision of the commissioner of the NFL, and the grace and love extended by others who embraced him, such as Tony Dungy and most importantly Donovan McNabb- who by the way had been traded to the Washington Redskins—Michael Vick’s focus was met with faith and the comeback came to fruition.  I would be remiss if I did not also celebrate the fact that the owners of the Eagles franchise, Head Coach Andy Reid, the team and the fans embraced the quarterback as well. 

This serves as a good example to others that no matter how low you may go keep your mind stayed on Jesus, walk by faith and not by sight, and continue to praise God from whom all blessings flow.
