As I walked the pristine campus and embraced the beauty of God’s creation, I realized that 25 years ago I was in this place rushing to get out. And now, I was dreaming about being back. God’s Word reminds us that He gave His only son that we might have life and have it more abundantly. However, we allow “life” to rob us of the abundance and drain us of the joy that should be ours. Where are you in your life at this moment? What are you rushing to complete? Did you stop and smell a rose today? While this thing called life is comparable to a race, we must remember the race is not given to the swift but to the one who endures. So I would encourage you to force yourself to enjoy at least one moment out of your day by embracing God’s creation and enjoying the scenic tapestry of life. My weekend at Hampton was wonderful and then it was time to go. But I left with a new-found appreciation of life and for each day- This is the day that the Lord has made, and I will rejoice and be glad in it! Peace & love, Pastor M |
