Pastor MossI

I can remember as a child the excitement and expectancy that came when the month of December arrived.  The department stores were decorated with Christmas trees and the sound of Christmas music filled the air. Mom began preparing the house to reflect the season of the year as well.  The Christmas tree was up; presents wrapped and under the tree and the promise was made that more will come.

As a child we are sheltered and protected by our parent or parents and made to feel as though everything is under control.  We have no worries, no cares; only a great sense of peace.  It is this feeling of peace that frees us up to be excited and experience the joy that the season brings.

But that was as a child.  As adults we take on some of the same responsibilities that our parents had but what was it about them that made them set an atmosphere for us as children wherein we would not be consumed by the cares that they bore on their shoulders? I would submit to you that it was their relationship with God and their understanding that if they trusted in Him, He would make a way.  Isn’t it interesting that they were able to do more with less, provide in times of distress and enjoy the simple things in life such as watching the smiles on our faces?

This is the season to be Jolly, regardless of situation and circumstance because God has held true to His promise to supply all of our needs according to His riches in glory! So let us thank Him for the needs that have been met and the promise of the blessings to come.

Merry Christmas!
