Over the past couple of weeks we have witnessed how our emotions can get the best of us.

Two of the best tennis players in the world erupted on the court, a member of the U.S. Congress during a Presidential address, and most recently Kanye West at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Each of these individuals is constantly in the spotlight, and must shoulder tremendous responsibility.  However, they each showed irresponsible behavior when their emotions took control.

The message for us is that the greater the responsibility, the more intentional we must be about our relationship with God.  Our study time, our prayer time, our time alone with Him must be a part of our daily schedule so that we are constantly cognizant of what Jesus would do in any situation.

Jay Leno interviewed Kanye West on his show and referenced Kanye’s interruption of young country start Taylor Swift.  The poignant question was posed to Kanye by Leno in this manner, “What would your mother say?”

My friends, we must always be thinking of what our Heavenly Father would say about our response to the challenges we encounter in life; those challenges that seek to evoke the most passionate emotional response from us. 

Again the question is, "What would God say?"
