Who Will it Be?

Pastor Moss

Civil Rights icon and Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient, Rev. Dr. Joseph Lowery turned 88 years old this past Tuesday.

Preparations are being made now for a citywide celebration on October 11th at the Martin Luther King Junior International Chapel on the campus of Morehouse College.

As we celebrate Rev. Lowery’s birthday, we must also acknowledge the fact that the next generation of leaders is being forced to accelerate their ascension into their rightful places.  It is no secret that Dr. Lowery, Dr. King, Ambassador Young and others held places of prominence while in their 30’s; yet we find that people such as myself in their 40’s asking the question, “Who will it be?”

President Obama has sparked some hope.  But we as a society must be more intentional about stepping up or getting out of the way so that others can step up and answer their call.

The bible tells us the Lord spoke to Joshua saying, “…Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel.” -- Joshua 1:2 (NKJV)

It’s time for us to step up and step out on Faith!

Let’s go, Joshuas and Joshuettes!

Peace & Love,

Pastor M
