Celebration of Life
Cascade United Methodist Church affirms life and accepts death as a reality. The Celebration of Life Ministry is committed to providing spiritual and support services to Cascade families who are experiencing terminal illness and/or bereavement. We annually celebrate the lives of Cascade's deceased on All Saints Day. We believe that it is our Christian duty to provide any and all needed support during these times of celebration
Communion Steward Ministry is the caretaker over the communion elements and properties. Its stewards serve the congregation the communion sacrament, and also assist the Pastor in performing the sacred and ancient ritual of Baptism.
The Culinary Ministry is responsible for matters related to culinary services (including training, education, assisting other ministries upon request). Quarterly coffee hours for the congregation to promote fellowship.
Our mission is to be obedient to the evangelistic call of the church by exhibiting love and warmth to all persons visiting and worshipping Cascade United Methodist Church.
Men's Usher Board
The mission of the Men’s Usher Board is to promote the general welfare of Cascade’s congregants and visitors during services. We greet worshippers as they enter the sanctuary and direct them to seating; distribute programs, bulletins, offering envelopes and visitor “welcome” cards; collect tithes and offerings; and assist and direct worshippers in the event of an emergency. In addition to ushering on the first Sunday of every month at all three services, the men’s board also ushers during special church events. Our uniform is a dark suit with accessories (tie and handkerchief) supplied by the board.
Women's Usher Board
Women Ushers welcome members and visitors into the sanctuary on the third Sunday of every month. We also volunteer during special services such as weddings, funerals, concerts and revivals. With warmth, patience and a smile, we attend to the immediate needs of all who enter the sanctuary. We direct worshippers to seats and distribute programs, provide tissues and hugs when tears flow, collect tithes and offerings, and address any number of individual concerns — “Where are the restrooms?” “Is it too late to bring my baby to the nursery?” “May I sit in the balcony?” “What Scripture did the pastor say?” In all things, we strive for discipline, excellence and an abiding spirit of Christian love.
The Psalters are based on the New Revised Standard Version of the book of Psalms and the Psalters are responsive readings that are read by lay members as a part of the worship service.
