Caregivers Ministry

MISSION
To provide visitation to members of the congregation who are homebound, hospitalized and in nursing homes and personal care homes. In addition, members of the ministry serve as lay counselors to entrust and support those they serve with compassion, openness, empathy and sensitivity.

GOALS

  1. The Caregivers Ministry will include hospital, homebound and nursing and personal
    care homes visits.
  2. The message of Caregivers at Cascade is that concern and compassion be given to every member needing ministry: showing, sharing and saying that we care and that our church cares about its members.
  3. The Caregivers Ministry will provide an important opportunity for partnership between clergy and laity and encourage care giving and nurturing to the congregation.

HOW WE SERVE CASCADE

  • Provide an important opportunity for partnership between clergy and laity and
    encourages care giving and nurturing to the congregation.
  • Send flowers, get-well cards and other expressions of caring
  • Report to the clergy those who are homebound and unable to attend church.
  • Function as liaison between the church, clergy and those members who are ill,
    homebound and in nursing homes and personal care homes.
  • Provide a mentor to those being healed at home or in nursing homes and personal care homes.
  • Conduct training workshops on nurturing and caregiving.
  • Provide ongoing support of an adopted family at the Sunbridge Nursing Home
  • Sponsor an annual luncheon for our homebound members and friends of our
    congregation.
  • Sponsor an annual Fellowship Breakfast/Brunch for Caregivers Ministry
