MISSION
To provide seminars to disseminate information to members of Cascade United Methodist Church and the community in the areas of law, home buying and personal finance, in addition to mentoring children ages five through eighteen through Big Brother Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta.
GOALS
- To offer opportunities to members to educate themselves in areas related to law and how to use the legal system.
- Educate first time home buyers on the process of buying a home, finding a good real estate agent, and understanding finance options.
- Educate members on the importance of investing early, when and how to prepare for retirement and the advantages/disadvantages of various retirement plans.
- Collaborate with other existing ministries/groups within the church to help in our efforts of recruiting volunteers for seminars and mentoring.
HOW WE SERVE CASCADE
- Actively recruit members of Cascade United Methodist Church with expertise in law, real estate, and financial planning to develop seminars and symposiums in their areas of expertise.
- Create and sustain an alliance with Big Brother Big Sister of Metro Atlanta in order to mentor more children in the community.
- Establish/enhance a mentoring program at Cascade United Methodist Church for children ages five through eighteen.
- Seek volunteers from other established groups in the church (i.e. United Methodist Men/ United Methodist Women) for their support in mentoring
- Sponsor seminars and information sessions on the topics stated in the mission statement.
- Coordinate with other ministries and groups within Cascade United Methodist Church to help in mentoring of children.
