MISSION STATEMENT
The Veterans Ministry claims a unique mission to minister healing, support, and fellowship to all veterans of Cascade UMC, and to function as an educational and mentoring resource to each other, and to share these resources with the broader church and the community.

GOALS

1. To provide support and fellowship to one another and to the families of ill or deceased
   Cascade veterans.
2. To show appreciation to veterans for their sacrifice and service to their country.
3. To develop an action plan to best reach out to youth in the community who could
   benefit from the unique training and discipline of veterans.
4. To develop an action plan to best reach out to adults in the community who could
   benefit from the unique training and discipline of veterans.
5. To increase group participation.

WHAT WE DO FOR OUR UNITED METHODIST VETERAN!

• Secure personal and family information about each veteran from completed Biographical Data Forms to help the veteran with day-to-day problems of adjustment.
• Develop a program of acknowledgement before the families and the congregation during Sunday worship service.
• Plan and schedule an annual Cascade Veterans Day Reception and Recognition Sunday.
• Meeting with the principal of a community middle and/or high school to offer our mentoring services.
• Work with the homeless ministry to assess how best to offer the veterans ministry support.
• Host an annual summer picnic for all Cascade UMC veterans and their families
• Secure group recognition symbols for UMC veterans such as a banner, lapel pins, T-Shirts, jackets and caps to further promote fellowship.
