MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Deaf Ministry is to bring deaf and hearing impaired people to Christ.

GOALS

1. Provide deaf/hearing impaired services to members and visitors.
2. Serve as liaison and advocate between the Deaf Ministry and the congregation.
3. Use and expand our resources to serve the deaf beyond our Sunday worship services into the larger community.
4. Increase participation/membership in the Deaf Ministry.
5. Provide sign language education to members.

HOW WE WORK FOR CASCADE

• Provide signing services at the 9 am service.
• Interpret the New Advent Thanksgiving Concert.
• Initiate and maintain contact with deaf members and visitors.
• Maintain section where deaf people can sit and have access to their language.
• Invite and encourage those who are deaf and hearing imparied to attend sign classes and events.
• Continue alliances with other churches with sign language ministries.
• Use Deaf Awareness Month as a vehicle to invite and feature other Sign Language Ministries as a means of mutual fellowship.
• Attend deaf functions in the larger community such as ‘silent dinners’ plays for the deaf , and picnics.
• Volunteer at schools for the deaf and other places of need; participate in the “Adopt a Family” project for the deaf.
• Inform church of events for the deaf via church newsletter and ministry website.
• Present workshops featuring more experienced signers.
