S / PPRC is the administrative unit where staff and congregational interests are integrated to focus on the mission of the church and ensure that the mission is realized. In carrying out its responsibilities the committee interacts with the senior pastor, all ordained leaders, the lay staff, the congregation, the community, the district superintendent and the United Methodist conference and general church staff. The nine-member committee meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month.
SPPRC MEMBERS
- Robert Haley - Chair S/PPRC - Class 2008
Robert received his education from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA. Upon graduation, he was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He retired from IBM after twenty-five years of stellar service in several staff positions, in data processing and marketing, to become an independent consultant in organizational management and employee behavior. In 1993, he was appointed Director of Special Projects, College of Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology and in 1998 was given the additional title and responsibility of Special Assistant to the President. He now serves as Director of National Initiatives for Georgia Tech. Robert is an active volunteer in many organizations including the National Society of Black Engineers; the National Action Council of Minorities in Engineering; and 100 Black Men of Atlanta, Inc., where he served as the organization’s tenth President.
