Marvin Mossarvin Anthony Moss was born on May 23, 1963 in Goldsboro, North Carolina.
He was educated in the public schools of North Carolina and graduated from Goldsboro High School. He is a graduate of Hampton University, the Naval Chaplains Reserve Officers School, and hold a Masters of Divinity from Gammon Theological Seminary at the Interdenominational Theological Center (The ITC).

Reverend Moss is the Senior Pastor at Cascade United Methodist Church. He assumed this position on June 22, 2006, having served as Senior Pastor at St. James United Methodist Church in Alpharetta, Georgia since 1999. Prior to his pastoral duties at St. James, he was Associate Pastor at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Decatur, GA. from 1994 until he was re-assigned in 1999.

Pastor Moss is leading his flock at Cascade United Methodist Church to continue to be a light in the community. His vision for Cascade is for it to be a Christ-centered church utilizing the spiritual gifts of the congregation and becoming an even more active partner in the local, national and global communities. He is encouraging the congregation to place special emphasis on developing quality programs that will nurture children and youth, while effectively and efficiently carrying out the mission of Cascade through quality ministries.

Pastor Moss is credited with leading the congregation at St James from a membership of less than 100 to a more visible and viable entity in the Alpharetta community and the North Georgia Conference, and a membership of approximately 1500 parishioners. Under his leadership, St James purchased land and built a new church. A Disciple Bible Study program was implemented at St James which has produced more than 350 graduates. At the time Pastor Moss left St. James and was appointed to Cascade UMC, the church had approximately twenty-five ministries, with a special focus on “Outreach Ministry” that completed a mission trip to Ghana in October, 2005.

Pastor Moss has been involved in the greater Atlanta community at many levels including serving on the Board of Directors of the North Fulton Habitat for Humanity, the North Fulton Community Charities and the Ed Isakson YMCA. He serves on the Grady Health System Board of Visitors. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. He was the recipient of the Denman Evangelism Award in 2003, and the Freeman UMM Leadership Award in 2005.

Pastor Moss and his wife, Gwendolyn Boyd Moss, have three sons – Justin, Damon and Brandon.
