It’s one thing to say we belong to something - - it’s another to show up. Our presence each Sunday in the pew and everyday in the world is a commitment to be involved in the present and the coming kingdom of God.

Presence is extremely important. Regular attendance at church and participation in the ministries of Cascade UMC surround you with the presence of God, putting you in contact with other Christians who nurture your faith, provide encouragement and offer support when you need it.

Your presence also gives encouragement to others, just as their presence encourages you. We need each other’s strengths. We need to share hope and comfort. We can’t be effective if we exist as islands standing alone and apart from one another.

Our relationship with Christ is not confined to Sunday morning. We also sustain the church by our presence at home, work, school and in the community. Wherever we are, our presence should demonstrate an expression of our personal commitment to Christ.
